Member for Newcastle, Tim Crakanthorp MP, has congratulated Merewether High School students Zoe Davis and Aidan Bottom for their involvement in NSW Youth Parliament. Ms Davis has some experience at Parliament House, having travelled there for the School Captains’ visit.

During the July school holidays, Ms Davis and Mr Bottom will be debating Bills with the rest of the Youth Parliament on the floor of the NSW Legislative Assembly. Ms Davis is the Shadow Education Minister, and Mr Bottom is Shadow Transport Minister.

The Youth Parliament is a fantastic opportunity for civic-minded young people to get involved with government and politics and allows them to develop crucial debate and negotiation skills. Mr Crakanthorp is interested to see how Ms Davis, Mr Bottom and the rest of their cohort fare in the Legislative Assembly.
