CRAKANTHORP CALLS FOR PREMIER TO INTERVENE AND STOP CUTS TO TAFE CLEANERS

Tim Crakanthorp MP, Member for Newcastle, today gave a Notice of Motion in the NSW Legislative Assembly calling on the Premier to intervene and stop the cuts to cleaning services at TAFE.

Cleaners at Hunter TAFE have had their hours of work more than halved in a miserable attempt by the NSW Government to cut costs and continue their relentless war on TAFE.

Students and Teachers have had to endure working and learning in unhygienic conditions as a result of the cuts to cleaning services.

United Voice and the NSW Teachers Federation have joined in the chorus of opposition to the cuts to cleaning services and are campaigning for this decision to be overturned.
